01 · THE PROGRAM

DWS started its micro-credit programme with small loans of Rs 5,000 in 1995.

Small support. A chance to build.

According to the original DWS page, deserving persons received small loans that were to be returned in easy instalments. Many beneficiaries went on to run their own shops.

In 2001, DWS joined hands with Akhuwat to expand the programme on a larger scale.
