About Us – Decent Welfare Society

The journey of Decent Welfare Society started with the dream of serving the humanity. It turned into a reality through the efforts of Dr. Ijaz Bashir. Decent Welfare Society was established in 1991, and Dr. Ijaz took his first step by organizing free medical camps in far-flung villages of Gujrat. The lesson learnt was that illiteracy and poverty are the reasons behind the increasing health problems in the people. Considering this, his ambitious nature forced him to start various projects for the uplift of the general economic and health situation of the country.

For more than three decades, DWS has remained committed to serving communities with compassion, dignity, and a strong belief that everyone deserves access to quality healthcare, rehabilitation, education, and opportunities for a better life.

Our work focuses on addressing genuine community needs through practical and sustainable initiatives. From the Clubfoot Center Gujrat and informatics college of allied health sciences to the Sook Kalan Dispensary and other welfare programs, we strive to take essential services to underserved communities.

We are proud to work alongside healthcare professionals, educational institutions, donors, volunteers, and national and international partners. Their support and collaboration have enabled us to expand our reach and strengthen the impact of our programs.

As we look ahead, we remain committed to improving our services, strengthening our systems, and keeping the people we serve at the heart of everything we do.
