Clubfoot Centre community care
01 · OUR HISTORY

A centre built to reduce preventable disability and make specialist rehabilitation accessible to families who need it.

From a local need to a centre of hope.

The Mahomed Gatrad Artificial Limb and Clubfoot Centre was established under the umbrella of Decent Welfare Society in Gujrat, Pakistan. DWS began its humanitarian journey in 1989 with a mission to reduce preventable disability and serve underprivileged communities through healthcare, education and social welfare initiatives.

As DWS expanded its healthcare outreach, it became clear that there was a severe lack of orthopedic and rehabilitation facilities between Lahore and Islamabad. The centre was founded in Gujrat to fill that gap, providing completely free treatment for children with clubfoot and people requiring artificial limbs.

03 · THE SUPPORT BEHIND THE CENTRE

A mission powered by
commitment.

The establishment and success of the Centre have been made possible through the support of Dr. Mohamed Gatrad OBE, a British pediatrician and humanitarian who has been a main driving force and sponsor behind the centre.

His support has helped fund treatment so deserving patients can receive care free of cost. Today, the centre serves patients from across Punjab and beyond.
